These parenting education workshops are designed to help empower parents to be advocates for their child’s(ren’s) needs at home and at school. We live in a world where ableism creates the belief that if you can’t see it, then it’s not there. Children with atypical development such as ADHD, twice exceptionalism, learning disabilities, and giftedness come with varying degrees of difficulties in the realm of executive functioning. They’re constantly being pushed to be someone that their neurological makeup doesn’t align with. Their brains have unique gifts AND unique challenges. During this presentation, you will gain first-hand experience of what it is like be a child with atypical development and understand the “good” and the “bad” of their neurological makeup. And, of course, you will walk away with tools and strategies for both home and school!
